Special Representatives of the George S. May International Company are full-time salespeople who call on presidents and owners of small and medium-sized businesses. George S. May International Company representatives use professional selling skills and tools to make the presentation and secure the client's agreement to conduct a Preliminary Survey of the business.

As a Special Representative, you'll work directly with business owners and presidents in your local area introducing our services and convincing them to investigate ways to make their companies better and more profitable. You will talk directly to decision makers so your polish, desire and expertise will only improve your earning opportunities. George S. May International Company will invest the time and training necessary to allow you to expand your knowledge of business and attain new heights of sales success.

Basic requirements for the position of Special Representative are:

  • College education preferred.
  • Five years of business experience preferred.
  • Positive, sales-oriented personality.
  • Business-like, professional appearance.
  • Must own transportation (late model preferred) for business purposes.
  • Must be able to see, hear and communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Must be able to do routine arithmetic calculations and prepare simple statistical reports such as expense vouchers.
  • Must be able to move safely through and adapt to varied and unpredictable business environments.

To be successful as a Special Representative, you should be:

  • An independent self-starter.
  • Strong personality, positive and sales-oriented.
  • Accustomed to negotiating at top management level.
  • Articulate, able to develop the benefits of a service.
  • Professional in appearance and actions at all times.
  • Someone who has the ability to sell an intangible service.

Compensation:

  • Your compensation is based on commissions and bonuses from sales. Per diem and reasonable travel expenses are paid when you are more than 50 miles from home.
  • For a Special Representative earning $45,000, for example, Company-paid benefits (as indicated below) increase the person's total compensation by more than 30%.*
